Telenor Maritime Radio has over 100 years of experience from communication at sea. This gave us a unique position to create the word first wireless communication network on maritime VHF frequencies.

The VHF Data system has base stations covering all costal areas in Norway up to 70 nm from the coast line. We have also base stations on most of the Norwegian oil installations in the North Sea. This provides a very stable and effective long range communication. Telenor Maritime Radio has designed a communication system solely for maritime use. We have also designed unique services for the people that have their work at the sea. This provides the seamen and women a better, easier and safer work day.

VHF Data is easy to install, and can be connected to the existing network on board. VHF Data can automatically switch between different communication carriers like Satellite or GSM modems. These possibilities and qualities make VHF Data the perfect communication system for all ships from small fishing vessels to tankers ant passenger ships.
